This is because it now uses the Unicode character set. I will just show you the steps you need to take in order to create your profile in Hindi or any other regional language:

All you need to do is following:

Step 1:

Follow the hyperlink: http://www.google.com/transliterate/indic

Step 2:

Once there, the transliterator will be in action for you. Type anything in English and that will be converted automatically to Hindi or any other regional language like:

Hindi: ॐ शादी ॐ

Bengali: অম সাদী অম

Gujarati: ઓમ શાદી ઓમ

Kannada: ಓಂ ಶಾದಿ ಓಂ

Malayalam: ഓം ശാദി ഓം

Marathi: ओम शादी ओम

and a number of other regional languages and almost all major International languages.
